MPIL high purity MgF2 powder is suitable for optics applications.

MgF2 is extremely transparent over a broad range of wavelengths – from VUV to IR, its uniqueness being its ability to transmit over VUV (Vacuum Ultraviolet Range). Lenses, prisms and windows made from MgF2 are physically very tough. Thin layers of MgF2 are also used to coat surfaces of optical elements as an anti-reflective coating.

Some important end uses of MgF2 are:
